Welcome to Greyhound Rescue

Thinking about getting a new pet? Why not consider a retired racing Greyhound? You will be rewarded with many years of unconditional love and complete enjoyment!

Greyhound Rescue, Inc., formerly of Elkridge Maryland, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for retired racing Greyhounds. We are located in Gerrardstown, West Virginia and have adoption representatives conveniently located in Maryland; Virginia, Washington, DC, parts of Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

If you are a responsible, caring person who is willing to dedicate the attention a Greyhound needs and deserves, please consider adopting one of these noble hounds through us.

Spotlight Greyhound

This lovely girl needs a special home. Jackie was returned to us due to her owner becoming ill. Jackie was an only dog and very much a princess and would love some royal treatment again. While she is a princess, her favorite thing to do is to play with tennis balls and squeaky toys. She will happily smack a tennis ball around the yard with no one even throwing it to her.

Save the date: Saturday, April 5th!

We have been invited back to the Wilkins Buick event for the 6th straight year. This is a great event and a lot of fun. There are door prizes, kids events, and lots of food. Children are welcome as well as other dogs other than greyhounds.

I would like to get as many greyhounds as possible so we can show up the other adoption groups. Wilkins Buick is especially nice to us (we have been with them since the beginning) and as usual we will be inside one of the show rooms. Read more about SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, April 5th!

2014 GRI Picnic & Annual Fundraiser

Every year we conduct a Greyhound Rescue, Inc. picnic to visit with the hounds and to raise much needed funds. In order to pick the best location and date, we would like to get some feedback. PLEASE take a few minutes to assist us in maximizing participation and making this year's picnic a success. Thank you in advance and remember, "Life is way too short... Slow down and pet the hounds. Spend the afternoon with us"
